Political Parties are essential to the legislative process. In Florida, there are MANY political parties, however the two major political parties are the Republican Party of Florida and the Florida Democratic Party. When you register to vote in Florida, you must choose a Political Party. At Florida Model Legislature you will be required to register for one of our political parties (or Non Party Affiliate). Model Legislature provides this information to you on a non-partisan basis, as we do not endorse either political party. We endorse a knowledge of how government works in Florida, the ability to understand legislation, and a knowledge of the political process.
