Frequently Asked Questions about Registering for Model Legislature

Picture
Registration often comes with some questions, please see our answers to these questions below, if your question is not seen here, please contact us. For a clear view on how this process works, view this page.

How much does it cost to participate in Florida Model Legislature?

The cost of attending the conference is $169 per student and advisor. This includes four meals, training on the legislative process in Florida, and covers the cost associated with the conference.

Model Legislature also offers a registration package without food, where all the services that model legislature offers is available without meals at the conference. The cost to attend the conference without meals is $139 per advisor and student.

What is the Difference Between a Group and Individual Registration?

Groups register a delegation (team) to attend. Groups that may consider attending could include student government, honors societies, pre law groups, or other student organizations, civic organizations, etc. Even though the team is registered by their advisor or group leader, individual team members will need to use the individual registration form to let the conference know what positions they prefer.

Likewise, a individual will be able to register and attend the conference on their own. The conference recognizes individual participants for their commitment to participating without the financial support of their institutions.

Do i have to pay for students who do not attend? Is a refund available?

Refunds for participants who no longer wish to participate in the conference may receive a full refund 2 weeks before the first day of conference. After this two week milestone, Model Legislature will only refund half of the registration cost.

Who is eligible to attend Florida Model Legislature?

Any student currently enrolled and taking classes in a post-secondary institution.*

I am a Duel Enrolled Student, can i attend?

Students attending college level courses as dual enrollment students will be eligible to attend. All minors (17 and younger) will have to have parental permission to attend as an individual.

*Model Legislature may request a transcript to confirm enrollment at a Post Secondary Institution for participation purposes. This transcript must show attendance of classes in the current academic years fall, spring, or summer terms.
