The Executive Branch at Florida Model Legislature will simulate the Executive Branch of the State of Florida. These student leaders were elected by their peers at the previous Model Legislature. Email: Governor@modellegislature.org Role of the Governor: At Florida Model Legislature the governor promotes a "platform" of interest that are communicated to legislators; Signs, veto's, or allows a bill to become law without the support of their signature; The Governor will schedule and hold several press conferences with the Press Corp and will deliver the Opening Welcome, the "State of the State", and a Closing Speech during Sine Die. The governor will also announce the new Governor and give the oath of office at the Inauguration. Governor assist the Governor in all of his or her duties as prescribed by the governor, unless the law says the Governor must perform those duties. The Lt. Governor shall work in the absence of the Governor if he/she is not able to perform the duties of office. If necessary, the Lt. Governor will take the office of Governor and appoint a new Lt.
